This one-day (8 hour) course is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who do or will work in an environment where hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is or could be present.
The course covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, protective/precautionary measures and basic rescue techniques. Each student will operate a self-contained breathing apparatus, a detector tube device, and perform rescue breathing as well as rescue lift and drag exercises.
An industry standard certificate valid for three years is issued upon successful completion of a written examination and demonstration of the required skills.
Note: Course starts at 8:00 am sharp. Students who are late may be refused admission. It is recommended that ladies wear slacks or jeans.
